With an Avios ticket you should still get an e-ticket email with a ticket number beginning 125 from BA. This is the start point, and if you don't get that then you need to find out why. The BA App will still show a ticket number (or not). If you did this fully online then really it should have all worked, so in addition to the payment issue mentioned, the next thing that can go wrong is that EI is on a different GDS to BA. One of the many amazing aspects of IAG's technology is that they manage to have 4 different GDS systems for 5 airlines, and I bet Air Europe would have been another. But I digress. You can check the EI side if you find out the EI five character PNR and that's worth doing. If your payment bounced after ticketing then you get de-ticketed, by the way. There is a procedure where unticketed sectors are alerted to BA staff - here in Warrington - but with everyone working from home I think that process has fallen down and I'm surprised we don't see more cases.

But you did the right thing, other than the slight lapse of concentration on the date. Namely getting a new ticket - if you are sure you have paid for the original ticket - and then sorting it out after the event. The e-voucher / FTV may be correct, if the booking wasn't ticketed then there is no way an FTV can be created, since it is your original ticket emptied out of sectors. So you were right to give it a go, and I'm sure you will keep the evidence. But in essence if you paid for the original booking to Cork, and have the proof of that, I would expect a fairly swift repayment of anything out of pocket.

But yes, always good to check your ticket number!
