inter-island airfares are cheap nowadays, thanks to presence of WN - just buy a ticket. If you want two itineraries on same record, you’re basically asking UA to re-ticket at current mileage levels using current inventory.
OP may be referring to an excursionist perk which would allow the leg. Whether it's more effective to start the booking over online or do it by phone ymmv. I've had luck both ways.
