I’m the first to say that cw catering should urgently return to pre Covid standard, and also that there is no excuse for the lack of diversity, but let’s not exaggerate either. Most self catering options will be significantly worse, and the better ones like smoked fish and caviar if you are minded that way will be vulnerable to lack of continuous refrigeration unless you eat them very early in the flight.
i think many on this forum would see me as a food pedant with good reason. But I’m used to eating whatever I’m given, and as someone who still often flies Y, I’ll admit I find the concept of self catering in cw a bit over the top.
