Thank you, so it's not possible to change an award booking of one person to two persons (and on a different route) without losing the expired miles.
However to your reply to 1.: If it remains just one person (the original travelling person) it seems to be very well possible to change the route completely online without losing the expired miles, at least until the very last step of the rebooking process there is nothing written about miles being credited/debited (same mileage zone). So, this is possible I assume (and I think I've done this in the past already).
