Confusing Singapore bus and MRT fares?
The bus fares in Singapore appear confusing to me.
For residents of Singapore, they can buy an Ez-link card which deducts the fare. That's easy because the fares are so confusing. They charge odd amounts, the fare varies by distance (with many fare zones).
For visitors who are staying only a few days, the card costs $5 and it appears that you can't add an odd amount to recharge your card. The alternative is paying cash. That's where the confusing system of so many fares has to be mastered.
For those who plan in advance, one could print out pages from the internet and also plan out in advance where one is going, which bus to take, and what the fare is. This seems like a lot of planning.
Any easier way?
