PHL Economy Parking update: Philadelphia International Airport plans to reopen part of its economy parking lot for the first time since it shuttered the popular $13-a-day option at the start of the pandemic, airport officials confirmed.
Beginning April 21, about 1,850 parking spaces will be made available for travelers — about a quarter of the 7,100 spaces that have sat vacant since March 2020. Glad they changed their minds. Having no long term parking option is unlike nearly every other airport in the region was short minded, especially since leisure travel has returned with a vengeance. It’s already made parking significantly more expensive as the off-site lots jacked up their rates as much as 50%.
Sounds like they will build an off-site economy lot and then use the current lots for the cargo projects.
