Airport Compo (based on MAN)
Am I missing something? Why is there no compo payable for (for example):
x) Check in over an hour?
x) Security over an hour?
People scan "something" when they pass the entrance door. It proves they arrived "x" hours before the flight. If they miss the flight because of the airport systems etc (they can then prove they arrived when airlines requested), absolutely full refund and potential compensation. Don't you think things will get better (or airports close down temporarily/reduce capacity and accept they can't cope rather than take the fees)?
Realistically, of course not - too many greedy stakeholders in the mix...
I also feel slightly deceived Andy Burnham went in to fix it at MAN and it felt like he sided for them. I just think, if you can't provide the service, you cancel it a month before, or you provide complete compensation for everyone affected. Surely? It feels like the real loser is the consumer who just falls into this 'grey' void with no one taking responsibility for missed flights.
Welcome your thoughts and appreciate you may be on the other side of the fence or I'm completely missing something. BR
