CO was operating 737s to/from HNL from LAX prior to the merger, so this is certainly nothing new. Looking at my travel logs, I've flown to/from the Mainland in some 737 variant over 100 times on CO/UA. That's startling to me that the number is so high, but I guess a lot of it was choosing based on time of departure.
