I’ll expand on mia ‘s excellent concise summary by suggesting there are two separate pacing (aka “velocity”) factors.

The first is for Chase itself. IIRC, Chase takes a very dim view of anyone who a) applies for more than one Chase business card in 30 days or b) applies for more than two Chase cards of any type in 90 days.

Second, Chase is also going to look at your other newly issued cards. If your 4/24 includes three reported cards from BoA, US Bank, and Barclays all within the last 6 months, that would be a significant negative factor.

To sum up,
  • At 4/24, your next card should be a biz card, as that won’t (usually; see wiki for notable exceptions) increase your */24 count.
  • Before submitting any new application, assess your current total credit line with Chase (or wherever you’re applying) and, as discussed in the wiki, trim judiciously to create headroom for the new app.
  • Space out applications. A frenzy of recently acquired cards looks to a bank like the behavior of someone spiraling into deep debt, which is not exactly the optimal customer profile.
