Mexico is true, with the notable exception of CUN. No lounge in T3 and tiny lounges in T2 and T4. The better Mera lounges left PP during the pandemic and are now part of Plaza Premium, so you need an Amex Plat to get in those.

Speaking of Plaza Premium, that's why Amex is a better option inside the US. Access to the Plaza Premium lounges (including VS lounges as noted here), Escape lounges, and Centurions, among others. Those 3 are among the best in the US for offerings available with memberships (Cap1 DFW is the only other one I'd put in that pile, but there is only one lounge so far). Once the guests are limited in Amex lounges plus Cap1/Chase expand their lounge networks, I expect Centurions to become significantly less crowded in 2023.
