I think there are a lot of factors at play here. One of the biggest problems is that there is still quite a bit of the LD fleet on the sidelines at Beech Grove, IN.
There was never a lot of slack in the Superliner Sleeper fleet, but things are tighter then ever.
Especially, since the transition/dorm sleepers are not running on a lot of their regular routes. This is a double whammy since it takes regular rooms out of service for crew, and also prevents them from selling the extra revenue rooms that the "transdorm" offers.

If that gets addressed it will add back more capacity into the mix. Although, if Amtrak sees they are filling rooms at these prices even with more rooms coming online I don't expect the prices to come back down.
