As oliver2002 said, you need to be able to show documentation on how you intend to leave Brazil. It doesn't need to be a "return" ticket, but any booking out of Brazil - by air, by bus etc. If your plans are not yet set in stone, buy something refundable to show when you arrive in Brazil.
Note that the next countries on your itinerary may have similar requirements, so you may have to repeat the process.
