Including the drop of most of the EWR<>OGG non-stops, that's a precipitous drop in lie-flats/F seats and PremPlus (or PremPlus selectable as E+) seats to/from Maui. Upgrades soon won't be as easy as they were to/from west coast as they have been for the last 18 months. There's a lot of people who have been riding up front that wouldn't have had a chance to, pre-pandemic. That's gonna come to a halt.
Yes... with more than 2x as many flights planned to Europe for this coming summer than 2021, most flown with widebodies, even with the PW 777s coming back into service it was clear that Hawaii was going to take a hit on heavy metal for 2022. It's really the West Coast that loses out, appears 767s from DEN/SFO are all gone, replaced by 737/757s. EWR-OGG and ORD-KOA are back on slightly reduced frequency from 2021, though ORD-KOA (along with ORD-HNL/OGG) gets 787-10 service, as 777s are exiting ORD.

This summer, the dreaded 77G/M (2-4-2 IPTE) are tentatively scheduled for HNL-SFO(x3), HNL-LAX(x2), HNL-DEN, HNL-IAH, OGG-SFO/DEN. The sole 77W is SFO-HNL-GUM. HNL-EWR gets a Polaris 77E, IAD a 764. EWR-OGG has a 76L when it operates. SNA-HNL is back with a 73G. DEN-LIH/KOA are the sole 752s. Everything else consists of 737s of various stripes (-800/900ER/MAX9) and a few random 753s. Not nearly as fun as last year!
