Manchester Connection Options

Hi,

I'm travelling out of MAN on Saturday morning on BA1385 at 06:55, connecting to BA195 to IAH at 10.00.

Local media is reporting another crazy morning at MAN today with very long queues and passengers missing flights and departure delays.

There are a lot of holiday flights leaving after 06:00. Last Saturday's BA1385 departure was an hour delayed.

I want to be as prepared as possible and will obviously get to the airport early, however I was looking for some advice in terms of possible eventualities.
  • If I check-in, bag-drop and miss the flight due to security delays - would BA proactively do anything in terms of rebooking?
  • If I board BA1385, but a late departure and LHR queues causes us to mis-connect to BA195 - what would BA do?
  • If rebooking, how would BA likely do this? There seems to be later AA services from LHR, there is the later BA service to DFW. Is there a playbook BA would use to decide? Subject to availability, would I have a say?
