I found a "low bucket" Bedroom on the Empire Builder two weeks before a trip in November, and upgraded from a Family Bedroom.

Finding low fares back in November was relatively easy. As recently as mid-February of this year I booked one way roomette EMY-CHI on the CZ for $519.00. Sub $600 o/w roomettes on the EB CHI-SEA were also not at all uncommon during the slower times of year. FWIW, I've logged over 30 trips aboard both the CZ and and the EB, two on each train this year alone. I am way more familiar than most on the historic sleeper fares charged on these routes during the off season.
This price increase is unprecedented. Over the years, I've seen the fares rise on Amtrak but NEVER as steeply as this, especially affecting traditionally slower times as year
many months out.
Again, for anyone responding to this thread, I'm addressing ONLY Amtrak Sleeper fares made available and/or booked AFTER March 15, 2022
