When you are star gold, benefits are pretty much the same across all star gold membership regardless of the mileage program you belong to. Unless you fly a specific airline alot and you get upgraded if you belong to the same frequent flyer program, there isnt much difference across mileage programs once you are gold.
I agree. But for me, I don't know what the future holds. I have been with OZ since the late 90s and racked up a total of 612,407 miles (Diamond Plus, Lifetime). I have flown a lot of times with OZ and other partner airlines. At the moment, I am trying to look for an alternative airline (Star Alliance) to be with so I can enjoy the same privileges. I have searched some airlines to match up with or challenge, so far DL is a little promising so with BR. Now, am trying to use some miles that are expiring next year but OZ has limited options and expensive surcharges/taxes. I am panicking on how to use up my miles.
