This benefit is not valid for ticket purchases that could be converted into an airline credit, but rather only auxiliary fees. The reason some people have been able to get around that is because this a *manual* credit. There is nothing automatic about how it works. Unless some random Chase CS agent is monitoring your account (which maybe happens if you engage in abuse), no one would know your purchase was refunded.
I am unaware of anyone ever reporting a credit being "taken back."
