We did long layovers to allow plenty of time to get the little one out to the curb and dropped off with family. Wasn't sure how risky it would be to wait until day of travel to deal with infant in arms.
I've forgotten to add my infant in arms to the ticket before. Added at the airport ticket counter at ATL without an issue. Theoretically there could be capacity constraints that could prevent this but unlikely.
I'd add the infant now and then go to the gate agent when you get off first leg or before boarding second to remove
And, yes, I know. Ridiculous that I forgot to add my own child.
