There are still blankets, yet pillows are hard to find in KL planes lately. They have strongly reduced the number of available pillows last summer. Most crews actively hand them out for economy comfort passengers, yet it is no requirement and up to the crew how to hand them out. Also, KL staff take them upstairs when they take a nap.

There are 2 big plastic bags with pillows in the overhead luggage departments above the C/H seats of the first economy rows on AMS outbound flights. I expect some 60-70-ish pillows per outbound flight. If a crew decides to hand them out to economy comfort pax on the AMS-BOS outbound flight, there are only 20-ish left for the return (night) flight. Most probably they won't actively distribute them anymore in that case.

Bottomline: there are some pillows, but not enough for alle economy comfort seats and definitely not for alle Y pax. If you ask for one, you'll probably get one.
