If the poster stayed in March, things probably still hadn't gotten fully going yet. Especially if they had booked well in advance while in the COVID doldrums when rates were still depressed. It's been in basically the last month that everything has exploded in price as everyone declares COVID done and dusted.

I'd also note that this figure isn't historically unrealistic for some times of year - I stayed in Dec '19 for 172 EUR / night.
