Anyone know if United ticket purchases made through OTAs (specifically, retail/non-opaque purchases through Priceline) qualify for the $125 credit on this card?
I just bought a United ticket via Priceline to take advantage of Priceline's slightly-more-than-24h-on-weekends hold (cancel by 4/5 @ 3:04am for a full refund).
The pending charge on my Quest card
appears to be from United (and, oddly, immediately after I booked via Priceline, I got an emailed receipt directly from United), so it seems that UA processed the charge directly (hard to confirm until it posts, though). UA also confirms my two free bags (so UA is at the very least aware of the fact that it was charged to a Quest card).
The T&C on Chase seem to allude that "mainstream" OTA purchases should qualify--they don't exclude
all OTAs, just "some discount travel websites":
United tickets booked through some discount travel websites or as part of a third-party travel package will also not qualify.
I'm optimistic it will but wanted to check here for any experience with this. (Though if this fare is still available Tuesday after midnight, I might go ahead and just cancel and rebook through UA directly just to be safe...)
Edited to add: Also, I booked and then canceled a ticket directly on United.com a few days ago; the charge and the $125 credit both posted but the refund for my ticket hasn't yet (I assume it will Monday). Hopefully that doesn't screw up the credit too much.
