If I could earn LPs on my wife's upcoming flight to Asia, I'd easily spend the extra $300 to send her on Oneworld partners instead of Turkish, but instead, Oneworld gets $0 from me and *A, which I don't fly, gets my business. I'm not sure what argument you can possibly make that makes it a bad deal for AA in this situation to allow me to earn her LPs there, especially considering PPRO and EXP are not even that valuable for someone who doesn't fly enough to organically earn them outside of elite choice rewards which, again, you need 30 segments to earn.
