On previous weekends, if you have boarding passes already the self drop machines were the fastest way to do this. This was in the context of a lot of people not having boarding passes and requiring their covid documentation to be checked / scanned/ So if you are past that point the machines may be best. There are various combinations as to who can use the First Wing but frankly you would be best to check the queue there and for the macines and if you are going to the Club lounge then consider North Security rather than South / First.
