They will rebook you since your first sector won't have started due to the cancellation. What I would do, if it happens, is get on the first train you can, and looking at the schedule even if there are further rail delays you have every chance of getting to LHR before 12:30 or so and that would be fine. Even the 08:55 from Piccadilly, 09:11 from Wilmslow should get you in for that quite easily.
