I am so glad I did my revenge travel between September 2020 and December 2021 rather than locking myself down. Very reasonable prices and no crowds. Yellowstone, France, Ventana several times, and Maui three times. Not to mention Santa Barbara twice and a great long weekend road trip. I was happy to support tourism employees when they most needed it. I also provided needed revenue to airlines who were flying mostly empty planes.
We've had 2 years when travel was win-win for customers and the travel industry. Now that it's changing to lose-win, I will switch focus to wherever the value is. At the moment, that would be places like Thailand. It's definitely not Andaz Maui, if it ever was. In the USA, I'm thinking maybe Alaska. The Vancouver, Canada Hyatt is a bargain at 9k points per night off-peak. Grab that one before the tourists flood in.
