If that was the intent, it is not stated in the terms. In fact arrivals on the same date are OK. It's a quirk of time zones that this arrival was the day after departure. It was still the same date in the Pacific time zone, but not in London.

I say fix the policy or at least fix the stated terms to match the goofy policy.
