1000%. There are folks out there that just don't place any value on upgraded seats/amenities for a flight but will stay at Four Seasons, Ritz or a private villa all the time.

On the same token, there are those that must fly business/first and then will scrimp, save or stay 20 miles away from where they want to be just to use points for the hotel.

All that said, the limited market for premium business seats to HI from the west coast is well-served by Hawaiian Air and a few UA/DL flights. Even in the days of the three-holers, the legacy carriers rarely had sleeper seats on HI-bound equipment (even from ORD/DFW). DL was a rare exception from ATL when it started, but even they switched to regular first seating on their Tristars sometime in the late 80s/early 90s.

I'd suggest that the current quality of premium business seats available from DFW and points east is an improvement over historical premium seat lift to the HI islands.
