Yes, checked bags will need to be collected and rechecked. When you go back through security at Terminal D it's usually worth walking to one of the other checkpoints, other than the one where you get spit out after CBP as the lines are usually shorter. Reenter at D, then take the Skylink train to your next gate (don't take the interterminal bus, it's much slower). You'll have plenty of time.
