I received a call from someone at Blackhawk Network (aka giftcards.com) today.
He basically disclaimed responsibility for everything. More specifically I asked:
1) What is a month? His answer "We have a daily limit of $2500 and a montly limit of (I forget, I didn't really care. We have no other limit."
2) Why haven't I gotten my miles four weeks after I bought the giftcards. "We have nothing to do with that. You have to contact American Airlines."
3) AA/Cartera says that they pay the miles based on commissions they get from you, so don't you know what you are paying commissions on. "I don't know anything about that. I don't know that we pay them commissions. You have to contact American Airlines."
Obviously I emailed AA/Cartera today saying that BHN is blaming you for everything and you are blaming them for everything, so cut it the hell out (I didn't use those words) and fix the damn thing.
I bought my first batch of gift cards on 2/28, so I am planning to buy another batch on 3/31. Hopefully that won't trigger the "too much in a month" limit. But since I use them to pay a health insurance bill that is due on the first of the month, I'd rather buy them sooner. I just didn't really think of this until Feb. 28.
