Darwin to Melbourne on Qantas Boeing 787 in business class

For through passengers once again straight into the international departures area. Compared with the outbound transit, there were more people with masks off for longer. Presumably this is a reflection of reduced mask wearing in the United Kingdom compared with Australia at present (including not required in airport versus required).

We didn't make up any time in the transit so it will be a late arrival into Melbourne also. This left me with a minor dilemma for sleep - if I don't sleep during this leg I will be tired and should get to sleep quickly for the overnight. This is good as I will need 4am wakeup in the morning. Or, if I take a nap then I could get a normal amount of sleep in total but with a risk of not falling asleep quickly tonight (and thus end up with less sleep). Hmmm. In the end I had the meal and watched a movie, and feeling sleepy then took a 30 minute power nap before waking up during the descent.

The airport was very quiet when we arrived. Smartgate and customs. Then off to a hotel and bed for the night.
