This was on regional UA flights and not a transcon.
I decided to use the LH miles to book a o/w to Brussels (actually, it's Frankfurt, but will purchase a separate connecting flight to avoid fuel surcharges) in SQ Business class for Feb. Been wanting to do this itinerary for some time, but Covid caused a change of plans. Ideally, I would've postponed this trip a little longer, and flown domestically instead, but I have no choice at this point.
What made me finally pull the trigger was finding a nonstop return on UA Polaris (BRU-JFK) on their new 787-10 (UA miles). So, between SQ in C, and Polaris, it was too good to pass up.
Should there be further Covid disruptions next year, I will call to reschedule for a fee. I'll also have to cancel the other flights (and hotels). It'll be a mess, but hopefully, everything will work out.
