I booked SFO-LAX-JFK last minute (within T-24) on Friday for 43.5K miles direct with AA. Between the a la carte dining, showers, single seat, it was worth it every mile, especially what others were charging for a last minute ticket. No J availability anyway on AA, which made the F award choice that much easier.
