Can that happen??? Yeesh! I don't generally audit my FF accounts (or checkbook for that matter) since I assume everything's right. The UA system is really awful since they backdate everything. It doesn't even appear that AA has a ledger system to show a running total. I have an LP spreadsheet of course but that doesn't have my starting/current balance or any redemption activity. I understand that you are on Cartera's side but it really is ridiculous. In a free market, if this were Rakuten or Swagbucks, most of us would say screw 'em. They don't deserve our business if it takes 5 emails and 60 days to maybe get what we're owed.. Unfortunately, AA is dangling the status carrot and we are willing participants in this charade. Clearly I don't hate it that much if I'm reaching for 70k with zero planned revenue travel.
I'm not on anyone's side (except mine). I just think that people have unreasonable expectations about how the tech and/or the business work.
You can expect whatever you want, but reality will not match your expectations. You can also complain here, but that won't help you get miles. It may make you feel better.
