I can assure you that much of Florida is 100% booked. Courtyards and Residence Inns which were going for <$150/night in 2021 are asking $400+ now, if they have any rooms available at all. Many don't. Hotels which air crews stay at have temporarily kicked them out because they'd rather get $300+/night than the contract $60/night deals. I've seen air crews put up at hotels >1 hr away from the airports recently.
But 100% booked all year long? A random Sunday night in hurricane season 5 months from now? That just seems odd.
We used to occasionally go to Florida for a cheap getaway, but I can't imagine going there and spending London or Tokyo prices on hotel rooms, short of doing something very unique in South Beach or the Keys.
