booked Main Cabin award on 0620 flight, and didn’t find inventory when trying to SDC to 0900 (app gave “no options” which was also not a surprise given the later departure) … called PM line, asked agent about dropping UG requests on original ticket and upfaring to C+ (to allow SDC with an available seat, not dependent on underlying Main inventory; ~4000 miles less than booking Main on the new flight) … she contacted Ticketing Support who said “No”
tried the message/chat system and got the same answer
DL website appears to say nothing about treating C+ award tix differently than C+ cash tix for SDC purposes

- If you are traveling in Delta Comfort+, you may make a Same-Day Confirmed change as long as a seat is available in Delta Comfort+
- If there is not a seat available in Delta Comfort+, you may be eligible to make a Same-Day Confirmed change in a Main Cabin seat, if available
in the big picture, 3500 miles isn’t a big deal to me, but it’s really annoying that customer-facing agents simply don’t appear to know the rules
