I know the X1X is a slimmer profile than the Legion, but I have zero heat issues, though I actually bought it for video editing rather than gaming, so can't say I'm pushing it to its max on a regular basis. That's another huge benefit of going with Lenovo or Alienware (Dell) on a gaming rig, I think Asus ROG and HP Omen are also quite good, I know MSI and Gigabyte suffer from heat quite badly and they both use downrated GPUs, just poor heat management designs.
