They will almost certainly have to cancel the whole thing. It seems like they can't make any changes to anything once it's booked. You can
try contacting the hotel directly and asking.
In my endless daily searching I just left the search at the default "1 adult", got so excited when I saw dates, went and booked, and tried to change it to 2 adults and they couldn't. I had to cancel and rebook because apparently they take that occupancy very literally
