It gives you have amount you have to pay first and the taxes and fee later at the counter.
One thing to note as well - the 10x points and the $300 travel credit only apply to what you pay first directly to capital one at booking. What you pay to the rental car company at the counter at pickup only gets the standard 2x points and no travel credit. This is per the phone rep I talked to today.
