I had a reservation here that I made about a year ago. Tried to check in a week ago and the place was locked down. The security guard said it had been closed for some time. At no point during the last year did anyone from Marriott or the hotel reach out and the app still showed the reservation for check in but the hotel's phone is just a recording saying the hotel is closed. Made a last minute booking at the Hyatt Regency. I contacted Bonvoy Assist on twitter and have been waiting for a week for them to make good on the ultimate reservation guarantee.

Jetlagged and with a driver who hardly spoke any English it was not a fun surprise. I cannot believe no one reached out to me at any point in the year preceding my stay to say the hotel was closed down. Contrast this with Hyatt. A Hyatt I am staying at in May announced yesterday they were leaving the brand and a few hours later I got an email from Hyatt alerting me to this.
