I had a weird experience with the two lining up - I signed up for Aeroplan with Air Canada about two weeks prior to signing up for the Chase Aeroplan card. I received a "Welcome to Aeroplan!" email. Then when I signed up for the Chase Card, and used it for a few purchases, and did not see any way to see the points (my error? Possibly?). Then I purchased tickets for a Spring trip with the card, and I received another "Welcome to Aeroplan" email. My member number did not change. I was then able to see the additional points. It made me feel as if something wasn't quite lined up in their data base?
