I played around with some stays and couldn't find any that required a prepayment/deposit until I picked 4th of July week. Must have to do with holidays or events. Below is the policy. A while back I booked at StR Bal Harbor. Shortly after, they sent me their cancelation policy and penalties-which I was happy to know and still be able to cancel without paying. After that point, I read every cancelation policy before booking. 24 hour, 48 hour, 2 weeks, 30 days, deposits...too many variables to assume.
