I need to buy a voluminous bag to lug stuff around the ground, but I want it to be able to be used as a standard checked luggage sized bag in case I need to move it by air.

This bag is right at 157 cm, but I wonder if the specs that a manufacturer has for a big could possibly cause the bag to go over by a cm, thereby allowing an airline to rake me over the coals.
