1) Completely reasonable to go to your Point of Sale for the refund
2) Completely reasonably to expect the refund in a reasonable amount of time (which doesn't mean instant)
Sorry though I'm still not buying it. I've went to every Fairfield inn in Williamsburg VA and read their standard rates policy as well as the Escapes policy (which is prepay but refundable). Every single prepay policy is right above the book now button (on my phone). Don't know about desktop.

A week or a little over that to me isnt unreasonable. I've had pre-auths at hotels that don't even drop after 1 week.

And yes, go directly to the hotel to ask for the status of refund. Definitely not Marriott.
