The Elms Hotel and Spa Excelsior Springs MO REVIEW MASTER THREAD

This property was attained when Hyatt acquired Destination Hotels, it is fully integrated into the World of Hyatt Program. On the front doors it reads: Destination Hotels by Hyatt.

Current Pricing is 8,000 points per night at Category 2 however it’s slated to move up to Category 3 in just 2 days so I figured I’d write this sooner in case anyone wanted to book. Typical cash rates on the weekends are around $300+ so for 8k points it’s a great deal I do also see a few Off Peak dates for 6,500 points in 2021 if you book now as well.

The property itself is quite large, it’s very old originating in the late 1800’s. Located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

On property they have a full restaurant, a full tavern/bar, a spa and a lap pool with jacuzzi.

The lap pool really stood out to us as unique it easily spanned 100 feet and comfortable fit 30 people during our stay.

Globalist Breakfast covers $65 regardless of if you’re a family of 2 or 4 I will attach the menu below.

Beds we’re very comfortable, due to occupancy levels all the standard suites were sold out so no upgrades available, which was fine.

This property is rumored to be haunted by several ghosts, one specifically being a “gangster” from the prohibition era. It was featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters back in 2013 (Season 9 Episode 12) and they do have daily Ghost Tours for a $20 fee which can be charged to your room.

Overall it feels like a very old time hotel, you can definitely feel the history in it. Currently they are doing a lot of renovations but that doesn’t stop business occupancy was at about 90% when we stayed this weekend.
