booked sea-Ord- (Dtw) this morning.
Wife and I got to the gate and they were offering $1k vouchers. Honestly if we waited it probably would have got up to 2k.
DL and AS nonstops to DTW we’re sold out but they found Sea-Ord 2 hours later (on an A220!) that they were able to get us on, and we’d make our original connection to DTW.
they struggled a bit but it all seemed good, and our reservation was updated accordingly. We were officially offloaded from the flight.
This wasn’t the normal “we will let you know if we need you, please wait” conversation. The agent was pretty frantically trying to get this done, so I felt good.
Well, sure enough after everyone had just about finished, they found 2 people who didn’t check in, and said they were going to place us back on our original flight (we were taken off , and I know this because I got a text from UA about a flight cancellation and then afterwards congratulations on a seat assignment).
thankfully I asked if they would ask a FA to hold a spot for our carry on, which they actually did. We did get a $100 etc each for “our patience”, and also actually ended up getting an email each for a drink voucher.
Its a free $200 so can’t complain, but $2000 and (according to the app) premium economy on an A220 sure seems like it would have been a bit better alternative.
happy vdb’ing all.
United has no A220.
Assume you are referring to Delta.
There is no premium economy in A220. GF lists Delta's C+ as PE, but it's economy seats with additional legroom.
