the point i'm attempting to make is that information on websites isn't always as helpful as those promulgating the information might wish. Unlike pre-flight testing 'n vaxing, It's not a make or break issue for BA - but for the convenience of passengers I'd hope the airline takes advice from its very capable in-country team.
We can only work on what is provided to us, in any event one would hope the FCDO would have checked with their colleagues in country when preparing and promulgating its travel advice.

Given the information provided by both the British and Dominican governments on their official websites, it appears masks are required for those travelling to/from the Dominican Republic.
