There are 2 problems that happen. Firstly 2FA that is mandatory now in India is not properly supported by US cards. VBV/MSC needs to be enabled on your cards. Secondly, you can also let your bank know that you're doing a transaction on the Indigo website and that they should let that transaction through. Yeah, ended up using Amex BCP card and there was no issue. The problem is there is a foreign transaction fee on this card if not paid in US dollars. I didn't incur any since I paid in the US $. However, in many instance I would like to use BOA Travel Rewards card which has zero foreign transaction fees which seems like a difficult thing to do now.
What is VBc/MSC by the way?
With BOA Visa and Credit Union Master card, the transaction was not even going to Bank's payment gateway so there was nothing showing up on my online account like Declined or something else.
