AA's award pricing is pretty opaque. That's why I said that you can't tell if it's saver space by just looking at their price. They have cheap seats that are not saver space.

Nice to see it works, sad to see Alaska offers no saving of miles or $, will probably (re)book it on BA and save my AA miles for international routes for which BA charges outrageous surcharges. Thanks again.
Yeah I only use my AS miles for international partner awards, when I'm making use of the stopover. If I'm not making a stopover I prefer to use AA miles.
