I tried to upgrade NUE-MUC-OTP to Z or D... but was too expensive. They asked for 53€/1000SM in Z and 48€/1000SM in D.

But my 34 is still far far from

which pushes me to ask "wait, but how?!?"

since the normal quote on this route is double than that.
Have you used any award miles?

I did get particularly lucky with the price. No miles- using miles to offset ticket price is almost never good value.

I did a quick search and found a similar connection on a random Tuesday (same day I flew before) in April and the price in D return is 2735pln (about 580€). I've seen similar pricing to Dublin and Milan from Poland.
