I can only speak for myself but previously, even when I had CCR access, I would sometimes have chosen to eat in GF for the sake of speed and being able to serve myself and get a good view of 27L/9R from the terrace.
Obviously that doesn't apply any more (the self-serve bit) and in my recent experience GF is extremely busy.
As in- can't find a seat unless you sit with another group. I imagine GC is as bad.
The contrast with the CCR at the moment is striking- which is much quieter than before.
I put it down to:
1. A lot of people starting to fly again as things get going (this is a good thing!) and with a lot of retained Gold status (again, I'm not saying that is bad but in the normal run of things there would be people who drop in and out of BAG every couple of years) so have retained access to GF. I imagine same applies to retained Silver and GC use.
2. Far fewer F seats available and so the CCR is less crowded.
I'd be interested to hear what others think though and it is possible I just saw GF at bad times.
